| Yes,
a cat can do it.
But
can a human with our infinitely more complex natures and responsibilities,
ever realistically achieve the same blissful state of let-go?
And
still live in the 21st century?
It's
one of the questions of our age. And the millions of prescriptions worldwide
for sleeping pills and tranquilizers is a testament to that fact.
The
reality is, perfect relaxation is a natural human phenomenon. And
it's sitting there quietly, just waiting for us to stop running around
and rediscover it.
For
the proof, look at a baby or an infant, before they have gathered up all
the excess emotional baggage adults carry around....no wonder chronic
fatigue is nowadays as commonplace as the common cold.
We
have to find a way not to store up and repress our emotions, but to
release and renew them...to live in the world, but not let the world
live in us.
And
this workshop is about finding that out, first hand.
But
to begin with, it needs a piercing honesty into our innermost selves.
Stress
fractures
Do
you get angry at your boss, your employees or colleagues, your spouse
or children, inefficient or unfriendly service people? People who are
late, drivers who cut you off or drive too slow?
What
do you do with that anger?
It
is a proven scientific fact that every time we get frustrated and angry,
whether we show it or not, we increase the risk of suffering a
heart attack.
Doctors
say there are three options for dealing with situations like these.
Alter them, avoid them or adapt to them.
One
way or another, stress has to be addressed.
Beat
stress, or it will beat you
Firstly,
it is important to understand the mechanisms of our bodies and minds.
During
this workshop, will explore the stress cycle that automatically kicks
into our systems every time we feel threatened, and see that it can be
triggered even by an insult or a rejection.
We
will then learn powerful 'de-stressing' techniques to reduce the effects
of these patterns and avoid this damaging cycle kicking in the first place.
There
will be practical awareness exercises, meditations and hypnosis techniques
that you can take away and use to transform your daily life.
So
you can be relaxed yet alert in your body and your mind, even when the
going gets tough.
The Inner
Beauty Process
External
beauty treatments are only skin deep. The most expensive treatments can't
cover up the harassed, stressed, anxious or fearful expressions most people
wear unconsciously.
We
have heard that "Real beauty comes from within", and "Beauty
on the outside fades, but beauty on the inside lasts forever". What
exactly is this "inner beauty"?
Most
people describe it as, "a sense of joy", "peace",
"grace", "a quiet strength", "a loving presence",
"enthusiasm", "self-assuredness", "poise".
These are attributes which we have all felt at some time in our life,
but have lost touch with in the grind of day to day living. Instead, most
of us are living with very limiting and critical concepts about ourselves.
In fact we are our own worst critics, particularly about our appearance.
This
process is designed to give you the tools to reconnect to these inner
qualities, to find the inner peace and joy which radiates as "inner
beauty", and to change the quality of how you live your life. You
will also learn how to relax your face to appear more serene, and to relax
your body to be more supple.
Unfinished
Business.
We
all have unfinished business, or incomplete experiences, with some people
– and as long as we do, we cannot let go of them. They continue
to haunt our thoughts and waste our energy. And we cannot be completely
available for other people and experiences.
Only when an experience with someone is complete, can you say goodbye
easily. If you have not been total, if you have left things undone, or
if you have regrets, you will grieve endlessly. And all our unlived experiences
accumulate to become heavy burdens.
This course is an opportunity to learn how to have a completion, a closure,
with someone, even when we no longer have actual physical contact with
them.
